  1. Why does no one ever mention the lowering of the water table? I 've read that many of the aquifers have dropped significantly. And I can't help but wonder how much this affects local weather, drought, and wildfires. It seems no matter how much we address CO2 , that has no effect on what's happening underground. All I ever hear is CO2 CO2 but I don't hear anything about the River levees or dams. Or, how about the large urban areas and the vast tracks of farmland. These all change weather patterns and influence the severity of localized weather. Simply put , my yard is shaded in the back and needs less watering ..it's also 15 degrees cooler. Compare a new subdivision with one 15 to 30 years old. I live in the St.Louis area and most storms go north of the metro or south. The heat bubble of the city and the open farmland north and south. Thanks, just rambling

  2. I live in a country that is one of the poorest in Central America. Many people have no access to reliable electricity or to clean water. Children often leave, or never attend, the public school system. This puts the entire country at a disadvantage and compounds the spiral downward for generations to come. Poor healthcare, poor crop and forest management, poor infrastructure and substandard living conditions have helped spawned violent gangs involved in drug trafficking and has lead to environmental damage. Green Energy has its place but it is not the cure-all for people that are worried about their next meal. While affluent countries play games with global warming and destroy their own economies, China and other countries continue to build dirty coal plants at an alarming rate and ignorance the CO2 debate. As a planet we need to use the resources available to all of us and provide reliable, clean and affordable energy to everyone. Clean power, clean water and education that does not predict the end of humanity due to a slight rise in temperature while teaching conservation and a healthy life style could change the lives of billions of people. God Bless our tiny planet and thanks to CDN for your efforts to begin the education process. Good work.
