Is it just me or is it getting cold in here?

17 Jun 2020 | Science Notes

No, it’s not just you. According to Kenneth Richard at No Tricks Zone, a growing list of peer-reviewed studies is reporting evidence of established cooling trends around the world: namely Eurasia, North America, Africa, Australia, South America, Greenland and Antarctica. At a certain point we might need to invent a term for it.

Oh wait, we already did. By switching from “global warming” to “climate change” we can always start talking about global cooling without having to stop blaming humans for it. Except that natural causes seem determined to play a role. Richards’ article specifically cites a number of papers that have reported on cooling in the North Atlantic region in recent years that is tied to natural oceanic cycles. If they really are taking hold and portend the future, the seemingly endless winter of 2020 may be a taste of life for a long time to come here in eastern North America.

Aaaaaah. It’s a climate emergency.
