From the CO2science archive: According to Robert Frost, “one could do worse than be a swinger of birches”. And according to CO2Science.org, Yellow Birches or Betula alleghaniensis Britt. could do worse than live at a time when CO2 levels are climbing. From 1993 to 2007 there were 15 experiments showing that for an additional 300 ppm the average dry weight biomass gain was 34.3 percent. If only every pollutant were so good for the trees.
