From the CO2Science archive: between 2005 and 2019 there were 14 experiments on the growth response of Brassica napus (L.) or Canola (aka “Canadian oil low acid”, regrettably né “rapeseed” which is not exactly a marketer’s dream) from adding 300 ppm CO2 to the atmosphere. The average increase in photosynthesis was 60%, so it is safe to assume that the canola crop on Saskatchewan’s vast farms will benefit from the rest of us burning neighbouring Alberta’s vast hydrocarbon reserves.
