From the CO2Science.org archive: Water Fern, or Azolla pinnata var. pinnata is widespread through Africa and South Asia and seems to live a double life as both a nasty invasive weed and a valuable addition to the ecosystem. Known in various locales as Mosquitofern and Water Velvet, thus adding to the confusion about whether it is wanted or not, this plant is a damaging pest in waterways but also a natural remediator of contaminated waterways, as well as a source of nitrogen for soils in which rice is grown. Love it or hate it, from 1987 to 1997 there were four experiments showing an average gain of 54.3% growth with an extra 300 ppm CO2, and one experiment each at +600 and +900 ppm CO2 showing an extra 90% and 112% growth respectively.

Hey John, you’ve mentioned a lot of different names in the climate change duel, which thankfully seems to be getting back to a more realistic view of what is actually happening. My question is about Bill Nye the science guy. He has been teaching his brand of climate change ( fossil fuels bad ) in my granddaughters elementary school ( videos ) I guess as part of the curriculum. What happens now I wonder to our indoctrinated children?
