From the CO2Science Archive: Elaeis guineensis or African Oil Palm is a very important commercial plant native to Central and West Africa and parts of Asia. Since these places are already very hot, if they warm more it is important to find out if it will pose problems for agriculture. Unfortunately CO2Science reports on only a single experiment, in 2010, in which 5-month old palm oil seedlings exposed to an extra 300 ppm of CO2 experienced a 105% boost in leaf growth. So the apparent change is in the right direction. But a sample of one is too small to draw conclusions just yet.
