Effect of rising CO2 levels on Cucumis Sativus L. aka garden cucumber

02 Apr 2025 | Science Notes

From the CO2Science Archive: From 1984 to 2020 there were 18 experiments showing that an additional 300 ppm of CO2 boosts cucumber growth by 40.6%, 11 experiments showing that an extra 600 ppm CO2 boosts cucumber growth by 45.6% and 7 experiments showing that an extra 900 ppm boosts cucumber growth by 105.4%. Those crunchy green summertime veggies can look forward to better days ahead with more CO2 in their air to feed on.
